The peculiar dusting occurs when they bring in grains after they have shown flowers. The grain is initially bluish in color and hardens in the top of the head, gradually turning white. This indicates that the sorghum is perfectly matured. The grain is small, ranging from 2 to 4 mm in diameter. Stem, leaf and grain of sorghum is used for animal fodder. Our ancestors prepared delicious foods from the grains of white sorghum, which were very nutritious for humans, such as kurtuk, koje, zagara, bulamak and etc. These traditions are continued nowadays. There is also popular belief that foods from sorghum cures diabetes mellitus.
